• ♦ MR STARKEY’S WORK TO BE CARRIED ON (Received January 18, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 17. The High Commissioner for Palestine (Major-General Sir Arthur Wauchope) has arranged for Mr Lankester Harding, Director of Antiquities in the Trans-Jordan, who was formerly associated with the Wellcome-Marston expedition, to carry on the work of Mr J. L. Starkey, the British archaeologist who was murdered while engaged in excavations at Lachish, near Jerusalem. _______________
