BRITISH STEAMER IN DISTRESS
4. GERMAN LINER ANSWERS CALL FOR HELP (Received January 18, 8.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 17. The North German Lloyd liner Europa sent a wireless message that she was proceeding to the assistance of the British cargo steamer Cragpool, 5133 tons, which is in distress in the Atlantic midway between Liverpool and New York. It was reported that water was leaking into the engine-room, but the vessel was in no immediate danger of sinking.
