TRAMWAY TIME
to tx» «hto» or raa miss. Sir,—A driver of a one-man tram this morning informed a passenger, who just--caught the tram, that tramway time was two minutes ahead of radio time. If this is correct, why?— Yours, etc., CURIOUS. January 17, 1933. [Mr H. E.j Jarman, manager of the Christchurch Tramways, on being shown this letter, said there was no truth in the tramwayman’s alleged statement that tramway time was two minutes ahead of radio time. The clock in the tramway depot was checked regularly at 7 a.m. each day by the General Post Office clock', which is synchronised with radio time. Tramwaymen leaving the depot before 7 a.m. checked their time with the General Post Office clock at their earliest convenience.]
