WRECK OF YACHT WAITANGI
TO THE EDITOR OF THB PRESS. Sir, —Will any of your readers inform me of the exact date on which the yacht Waitangi was wrecked in the Avon-Heathcote Estuary. I fancy it was between 40 and 45 years ago. Two well-known Christchurch citizens Messrs “Bill” Warner and H. Stewart! lost their lives when the Waitangi turned over.—Yours, etc., F.T. January 18, 1938.
