LITTLE CRIME IN TARANAKI
(PRESS A9SOCIATIOK TELEOBAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, November 8. At the opening of the Supreme Court sessions to-day, his Honour Mr Justice Reed, in his charge to the Grand Jury, congratulated the district on the comparative absence of crime during the quarter. There were only two cases for trial, and one prisoner for sentence. Unfortunately, both cases for trial involved sexual offences. True bills were returned against Tuari Tuke, charged with carnal knowledge and alternatively indecently assaulting a girl aged 13, and against Thomas George charged with attempted rape.
