Mrs V. C. Meehan (Bldwill street) and her niece, Miss Geaney, who have been on a visit to Britain, are now in Australia, and are expected back in the Dominion in a fortnight
Mrs W. F. Hamilton (Ashwick, Fairlie), who is staying with hef daughter, Mrs Mitchell (Victoria, British Columbia), will next month on her Return to the Dominion. In memory of Miss Katherine Woollcombe, an unselfish church worker, a beautiful reredos was dedicated on Monday night in All Saints' Anglican Church by the Vicar, the Rev. H. Nelson Wright. The Rev. Trevor Williams, Vicar of Mount Somers. who Dreached
the occasional sermon, said that P e " sons throughout the Dominion and as far away as Great Britain baa subscribed to the fund for the rereck* For 58J years, said Mr Williams, Miss Woollcombe had taught Sunday School in Timaru, besides carrying out oth£T church work. It had been said atj*. recent Synod that Archbishop Julius was a great Victorian and a similar tribute could be paid to Miss Woollcombe.
