South Australian Budget TAXATION CONCESSIONS PROMISED (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (Received September 9, 7.5 p.m.) ADELAIDE, September 9. The Premier (Mr R. L. Butler), submitting the Budget to Parliament, announced taxation concessions for the general public totalling £285,000. Increased wages and salaries, restored pensions, and extra work and increased rations for the. unemployed, amounting to £539,000, are among the other items. In spite of this and a cut in the disabilities grant, he estimates to finish the year on June 30, 1938, with a surplus of £3984. The concessions include a reduction from Is 4d to Is 2d in the £ on all taxable income from personal exertion. All basic wageN earners with one child will be exempt from taxation.
