EMPIRE SECURITY
LOANS TO DOMINIONS FOR
AIR DEFENCES
LONDON, January 28
Inaugurating the Empire unity campaign at Swansea, BrigadierGeneral Sir Henry Page Croft said: “In default of world collective security we should aim at Empire security. We should facilitate loans at the lowest rate of interest, particularly to any Dominion desiring immediately to strengthen its air defences.”
The speaker advocated that Canada, Australia, and South Africa should each have 1000 fighting aeroplanes and New Zealand 400.
