EXPERT ADVICE ON AVIATION
DOMINION GOVERNMENT COMMENDED (TRISS ASSOCIATION lILEGRAU.) AUCKLAND. November 14. An Australian air pilot, who has made 540 crossings of Bass Strait in the Tasmania-Victoria service. Captain K. M. Frewin, who was a through passenger on the Monterey, commends ihc New Zealand Government for seeking advice from exports on civil aviation. He considers that Australia would he well advised to follow the example. Captain Fiewin, who is superintendent and chief pilot, and is visiting America to study air-line operations and especially requirements for night living, said that despite a special investigation by Australian authorities they had not ascertained the cause o the major accidents with the DH 86 type of machine, two in Bass Strait and one in Queensland. He piloted one across Bass Strait lor two years. People were somewhat cautious about travelling in them, and he had recently been transferred to a Douglas machine. ______________
