POLICE STOP BOUT ROUGH CONTEST AT HAMILTON U’KIESS ASSOCIATION TELEQHAMj HAMILTON, November 13. The Intervention of Senior-Sergeary, G. H. Lambert last evening in the Theatre Royal brought to a conclusion in the sixth round the roughest wrestling bout seen in Hamilton this season. As the result of the police action Davis was disqualified and the bout awarded to Blomfleld. Blomfield took a fall in the third round after a series of beautifully-timed flying tackles, a drop-kick and two dumps. Davis equalised in the fifth round with a fall after deadly elbow jolts and a dump. The sixth round was sensational. Davis had Blomfield against the ropes, and when he kicked and punched his opponent, the referee attempted to separate the pair, but Davis ran wild. Blomfield’s second knocked Davis- down. Davis resumed his rough ' reties, and after intervening twice, Senior-Sergeant Lambert stopped the bout and Davis was disqualified. The house was in an uproar,' the majority approving of the action of the police.
