MOTOR-CAR ON FIRE
A motor-car, owned and driven by Mr K. W Simpson, of North Beach, caught fire ift Cathedral square about 11.30 yesterday morning, but was soon extinguished by means of chemical extinguishers. When the fire started under the bonent Mr Simpson rushed into the Plaza Theatre and secured an extinguisher, which he played on the flames. Later an engine arrived from the Central Fire Station with, another extinguisher. It is thought that petrol leaking on to the exhaust pipe caused the fire. The engine was badly ' iM " B grni.
