JAPANESE OFFICER EXECUTED
MURDER OF GENERAL
TOKYO, July 3.
Pursuant to the sentence of the court martial, Lieutenant-Colonel Suburo Aizawa was shot at dawn by a firing squad for murdering General Nagata at the War Office on August 12 last. [Major-General Nagata, Director of Military Affairs in Japan, was cut down by the sword of Lieutenant-Col-onel Aizawa, The assassin had recently been relegated from the 41st regiment to military instructorship at Formosa. According to “The Times,” the act was one manifestation of the anti-democratic movement by army officers.]
