WIDE DIVERGENCE OF VIEWS
EGYPTIAN TREATY TALKS AT CAIRO LONDON, March 30. The Cairo correspondent of "The Times" says: "Though there is still a wide divergenc between the British and Egyptian views, the discussions on the proposed AngloEgvptian Treaty are being conducted in the friendliest spirit. "The difficulty of persuading the Wafdists that the political and military situation in the Mediterranean has changed vastly since the Labour Government's offer in 1930 is causing delays. It will be long before even a preliminary agreement can be reached, but there is no reason for pessimism unless Whit2hall has forgotten the Arabic proverb: 'Haste is from the devil.' "
