HARVEST FESTIVAL
SHIRLEY METHODIST CHURCH
The Shirley Methodist Church held Its harvest festival celebrations on Sunday. There was a splendid display of flowers, fruit, and vegetables, the tasteful decorations being the work of the members of the Ladies' Guild. The Rev. C. Strand was the preacher in the morning, and his sermon was based on the text "Thou crownest the year with Thy goodness." In the evening the Rev. F. Gardner Brown preached on the text, "What shall I render unto the Lord." The anthems given by the choir were "Call to Remembrance," "Bless the Lord," and "Ye Shall Dwell in the Land." Because of the wet weather, the sale of fruit and vegetables, which was to have been held on Monday, has been postponed until to-night. There will be a programme of musical and elocutionary items before the sale.
