POWER BOATING
NEW BRIGHTON CLUB’S RACE ROWLANDS TROPHY WON BY SHOOTING STAR The, New Brighton Power Boat Club held a race for the Rowlands trophy between Pleasant Point and the Estuary on Saturday afternoon, in perfect conditions. The tide was full, and _• the seft verV smodth. Bight boats started, and Otlra and the scratch boat, Shooting Star, provided 3 thrilling finish. Shooting Star Just passing the other boat on the post to gun first place. Nancy, the winner of the last race; was 14 minutes late in starting' through engine trouble, and Bawhitl, also lost tln } e during the rice through a blocked petrol pipe.
