MILK SUBSIDIES TO CONTINUE

RUGBY, February 21.
The House of Commons carried by 201 votes to 121 the second reading of the Government's Bill extending temporarily the provisions of the Milk Act, 1934, which gave a subsidy on milk sold or used for manufacture, and also on efforts to increase the demand for milk, including the milk-in-schbols scheme. The proposals are estimated to -cost £2,500,000 in one case and a sum not exceeding £ 600,000 the other.
