CABINET CHANGES EXPECTED
POSSIBLE RETURN OP SIR SAMUEL HOARE
LONDON, February 12. From the information that Sir Samuel Hoare and the Secretary for Air (Lord Swinton) both had interviews with the Prime Minister (Mr Stanley Baldwin) yesterday, it is assumed in some quarters that a reshuffle of Cabinet is impending, as a necessary prelude to the carrying out of the rearmament programme.
Both the Navy and Air Ministers sit in the House of Lords, and it is suggested that Mr Baldwin is anxious to have in the House of Commons a stronger mouthpiece than the junior Ministers, For that reason the restoration of. Sir Samuel Hoare to Cabinet rank is hinted at, but well-informed quarters say that it is not immediately contemplated.
