Lorna Hayman, niece of the bride, wore an ankle-length frock of pale green French crepe, and she carried a posy of shaded pink flowers to match her head-band. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Andrew Ell, of Christchurch, as best man. On leaving the church, the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by little Pcmela Adam, niece of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held at Dixieland. The bride's mother wore a nigger brown wool georgette frock and hat to tone, and her shoulder spray was of pink carnations. OLIVER—PAULL The marriage was celebrated in New Plymouth recently, of Avis, only daughter of Mr and Mrs M. Paull, to Geoffrey, second son of Mr and Mrs Leo. M. Oliver, "Wensley," Rakaia, and grandson of thfi late Mr and Mrs William Thomson, "Balmoral," North Canterbury. KAVANAGH—KEARNEY At the Church of St. Teresa, Riecarton, the marriage was celebrated on Wednesday of Agnes Elizabeth, younger daughter of Mrs C. Kearney, Cutts's road, Upper Riccarton, and Desmond Hugh, third son of Mrs M. Kavanagh, Ryan's road. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father 1. Hanrahan, Mr R. Stewart, the bride s uncle, gave her away, and Miss L. Waugh was organist. The bride wore a trained frock of white georgette, made with square neckline, caught with two brilliant buckles, and trimmed with godets edged with accordeon-pleated frills. Her embroidered tulle veil was scalloped all round, and fell from a wreath of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of arum lilies. The bridesmaids were Miss Molly Kearnev, the bride's sister, and Miss Kathleen Stout. They wore frocks of floral organdi, Miss Kearney's being lemon coloured and Miss Stout's blue. They were made alike with two frills at the neckline, large sashes, and six godets, composed of frills, inset in each skirt. Their large organdi picture hats were trimmed with matching velvet and they carried bouquets of Edith Cavell chrysanthemums. Miss Norma King, the flower-girl, wore a white georgette frock, with godets of lace frills, and a silver band in her hair, with orange blossom at the sides. She carried a posy of African marigolds. Mr Malcolm Kavanagh, the bridegroom's brother, was best man, and Mr Ellis Farr (Blenheim) was groomsman. As the bride was a well-known Highland dancer, the bridal party was played from the church by a piper. The reception, at which guests were present from Nelson, Wellington, and Invercargill, was held at Dixieland, festively decorated in blue and'lemon. Mrs Kearney wore a frock of blue satin beaute, with lemon trimming, and a lemon hat to match her bouquet of chrysanthemums. Mrs Kavanagh, the bridegroom's mother, wore a bottle green satin beaute frock trimmed with beige, a green hat, and squirrel stole. Her bouquet was of bronze chrysanthemums. Amongst the j telegrams received was one from the bride's great-grandmother. The bride travelled later in a Lido blue frock trimmed with blue and white, and hat to match. She carried a dark musquash coat, the gift of the bridegroom. GEDDIS—CURTIS The wedding took place recently at Knox Presbyterian Church, Waimate, of Elizabeth Jane, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. H. Curtis, "Aotea," Willowbridge, to Robert' Stewart, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. C. Geddis, Hunter. The Rev. J. Tennent (Morven) officiated and Miss O. Cameron was the organist. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of cream georgette. inset panels forming a train which was finished with tiny frills.
