EGYPTIAN EXCAVATIONS
MR CARTER RE!•T SKI > PERMISSION (Received April 13, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 12. The '"News-Chronicle" says the Egyptian Government refused to allow Mr Howard Carter to continue his excavations in the ancient necropolis at Luxor, though the work would be done by the same man under the same conditions, if he was employed by a scientific society which was not subject to these restrictions instead of operating as a private individual.
