WAIRANGI AT LYTTELTON

On her maiden voyage, the Wairangi, the third of the motor-ships built for the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company, arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Picton to continue loading. The Wairangi sailed from Liverpool on February 9 with cargo for Austra# Jian ports, calling at Cape Town f«r bunkers. She discharged at Adelaiwr, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, and Brisbane. The vessel's loading ports in New Zealand are Picton, Lyttelton, Napier, Auckland, and Wellington.

A sister ship to the Waiwera arid Waipawa. the Wairangi is heavier engined, having 4000 more -iorse-power. On the voyage out the vessel travelled at reduced speed until her engines are run in. She averaged 16.25 knots on the run from Brisbane to Picton. and is expected to attain 17 knots. The Wairangi has accommodation for 12 passengers. Captain G.
