CHINESE GARDENER SENT TO GAOL I'IIESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, April 13. Sang Fong, aged 23, a Chinese gardener, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment, to be followed by 12 months' reformative detention, by Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day. I He had pleaded guilty to three charges of obtaining sums totalling £l2 10s by falsely representing to persons to whom he had sold pakapoo tickets that they had won large prizes and he wanted money to pay commission to the pakapoo banker. The persons gave him money but never received prizes.
