THEFT FROM EMPLOYERS

(MESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, February 20. John Doyle, a young married man, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court to-day to four charges involving the theft of sums of money from his employers. In a statement to the police, Doyle admitted the offences. He had been in financial difficulties, but intended repaying the smaller sums until the biggest amount (£7O) came into his possession. He then left for Auckland, but later returned and surrendered to the police. On the main charge, Doyle was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Sentence on the other charges was adjourned sine die.
