■ * COUNTY RESERVES At the council meeting on Friday much discussion took place on county reserves, following a letter from the Commissioner of Lands, Blenheim, stating that it was intended to uplift the reservations of sections 2 and 3 ot the Cemetery Reserve. The letter stated that there appeared to be ample provision for burial purposes in the other lands reserved. It was stated that stock and other reserves had also been parted with. It was decided to discuss the matter with the Commissioner of Lands. Whale Carcase Recently, portions of the carcase of a whale were washed up on the rocks at Goose Bay. The Health Department telegraphed asking to have it removed, and arrangements were made by the engineer to have the work done. At the same time the Commissioner of Lands at Blenheim (as chairman of the Hundalee Scenic Board) communicated with the Minister for Marine on the matter, and an expenditure of £5 was approved,
