AVIATION INSURANCE
+ BIG CAPITAL OF NEW BRITISH COMPANY (HRinNB OFFICIAL WJBEI,E9S.) (Received January 19, 7.5 p.m.) RUGBY, January 18. A company which will specialise in aviation risks and be called the Aviation and General Insurance Company, Limited, has been formed by 12 leading British insurance companies and two firms of brokers, with a capital of £5,000,000. The scheme is an indication of the growing importance of the aviation industry, and of the determination of British insurance companies to maintain the position of London as the leadir.sf market for insurance of the various risks associated with civil aviation. [Much of the aviation business in Britain has in the past been handled by the British Aviation Insurance Group, which, as experience has been accumulated, has reduced premiums until in many cases they are now lower, both for freight and passengers, for air than for surface transport.]
