CANTERBURY AMATEUR CENTRE DATES FOR COUNTRY MEETINGS The executive of the CanterburyCentre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met last evening. Mr J. K. Moloney presided and -there were also present Messrs R. Beattie, L. H. Hill, C. N. Hamilton, M. Leadbetter, E. Todd, J. A. Gasson, J. H. Murphy, A. E. Hughes, and Dr. A. L. Haslam. It was decided to offer the Cust Amateur Sports Club December 27 as the date for its meeting. The application of the Prebbleton Club for January 2 was held over pending investigation into the prize list. The Little River Sports Club was granted permission to hold a district meeting on Boxing Day, and the Halswell Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club to hold its annual meeting on the same day, subject to the approval of the programme. It was decided to suggest to the Otago centre that the CanterburyOtago fixture be held on either January 19 or January 26, and to the Wellington centre that the CanterburyWellington fixture be held on either February 2 or February 9.

New Zealand v. Australia The New Zealand council advised that efforts had been made to have established a regular Australia-New Zealand meeting, and that further stens would be taken shortly. The New Zealand council also advised that affiliation had been granted to the Canterbury Civil Service Athletic and Cycling Club and the New Zealand Newspapers Sports Club. Championship Tram Club representatives met before the executive meeting to consider the financing of the Canterbury team for trie New Zealand championships at Wanganui on March 1 and 2. It was decided to organise an effort similar to the one made last year. Mr Moloney said it was estimated that the cost would be £75 for a team It was decided that part of the effort be allotted to the harrier sub-commit-tee, the funds raised by the committee to be devoted to the cost of sending the Canterbury cross-country team to the national cross-country championships at Wellington in August or September of 1935.
