! ♦ The monthly meeting of the committee of the Hawarden Argicultural and Pastoral Association was held at Hawarden. The president (Mr J. W. Wright) was in the chair and there was a good attendance of members. It was decided completely to revise the schedule and to include a collie dog yarding and driving competition, to increase and to distribute the prizemoney more evenly, and to bring the show more into line with similar functions in other parts of the Dominion. The election of judges resulted:— Draught horses, Mr D. ivicClure (Fendalton); light horses, Mr R. C. Chapman (West Eyreton); ponies, Mr Hunter Morris (Winchmore); cattle, Mr R. Peach (Ashley); sheep, merino, Mr G. O. Rutherford ("Lochiel"); corriedale, Mr J. Ensor (Rangiora); Southdown and Leicester, Mr J. R. D. Johns (Belfast); fat sheep, Mr W. A. Parsons (Amberley); dogs, Mr W. Anderson v-vaiau); pigs, Mr M. J. Scott (Lincoln College); grain, Mr J. Anderson (Christchurch); roots and field competitions, Messrs H. H. Holland and G. Gardner (Christchurch); poultry, Mr G. LoiThagen (Culverden); schoolwork, Mr J. E. Strachan (Rangiora). The following marshals and stewards were appointed:—Ringmaster, Mr J. R. Little; draught horses: Marshal, Mr J. W. Warwick; stewards. Messrs W. N. Hewett and J. Hall. Light horses: Marshal, Mr H. A. Reese; stewards, Messrs E. G. Fahey, H. Sidey, and G. Hutton.
