COLLIE DOG CLUB
MEETING HELD AT BANKS PENINSULA
A meeting of the Banks Peninsula Collie Dog Club was held in the library at Little River. Mr S. W. Birdlin.;? presided over a fair attendance. The chairman referred to the loss the club had sustained through the death of Mr T. Thompson and moved a motion of sympathy with his relatives. Similar resolutions of sympathy were passed with the relatives of Messrs E. E. Patten. R. Wright, and J. Pitcaithly.
It was resolved not to apply for the 1935 South Island championship as it was said that it would be difficult to provide sheep. It was resolved that the delegate to the provincial council should have a free hand about choosing the venue for the South Island championship. It was also decided that the club be not in favour of any methed of handicap. It was resolved to apply for the usual dates for the annual trials.
The following remits were moved for the annual meeting to be held on Saturday. February 1, 1935: That a special pri2e be awarded for maiden competitor, the owner to work his own dog. That the general committee be elected by ballot. That a district class be run in conjunction with huntaway. It was resolved that the recommendation given by Mr W. Mather (judge) be fully discussed at the annual meeting.
