"THE LIFE OF CHRIST"
♦ FILM SHOWING AT THE RADIANT HALL In "The Life of Christ," a film now being produced at the Radiant Hall, a large and difficult theme has been successfully treated. The picture lacks any sensationalism or romance, adhering to the simple Gospel story, and the scenes of Gethsemane and the trials and the Crucifixion are very moving. There has been little attempt to create dramatic effect by extraneous aid. Christ is seen performing His miracles, walking on the sea, raising the dead Lazarus, healing the High Priest whom Peter had attacked; the devil appears to Him in the wilderness,' and later to Judas Iscariot. These incidents are simply portrayed, and the same characteristic of simplicity marks the whole film. In its drama, its simplicity, and its representation in sequence of the major incidents of Christ's life, it follows closely the Biblical and other historical records. The Religious Film Society hopes that parents and school committees will make a special endeavour to bring children to see the film, and the society is prepared to meet necessitous cases and to those unable-to pay school masters have been authorised to issue free passes. The season cannot be extended. Box plans are now open at theD.LC.
