ROYAL CHRISTCHURCH MUSICAL SOCIETY
PRESENTATION OF "BELSHAZZAR"
A programme of little-known music is always an attraction and entertainment of the highest order is promised in the Royal Christchurch Musical Society's presentation of Handel's "Belshazzar" at the Civic Theatre on Wednesday, November 21. The conductor, Mr A. G. Thompson, is sparing no pains to make the concert one which will long be remembered, and with its choruses, • both melodious and dramatic, solos, duets, and recitatives, it is sure to merit attention. The chorus and orchestra are well trained and the well-known soloists—Miss Lilian Hanham and Mr Harry Francis—have been engaged, while Mr John Thompson will make his last public appearance before leaving for England to continue his musical studies.
