FJRST DAY OF SPECIAL EFFORT
The first day of the special effort of the Young Men's Christian Association to raise £SOO to meet immediate needs Was considered by the honorary treasurer, Mr K. G. Archer, to be quite satisfactory. A small, selected group of Women collectors visited certain streets in the St. Albans district and brought in £l4 2s. There were some refusals, but in every case the reception was most courteous, and in many cases householders expressed the keenest appreciation of the work of the *i? g Men's Christian Association. The committee would once again urge every householder to give someWing, even if only a trifle. Collectors are encouraged by gifts, and feel that F*"" work is really worth while.
