Miller ♦ U.S.A.), which was scheduled for /Friday, has been postponed indefinitely Miller was suddenly taken fill. Miller's trouble has been diagbiosed as slight congestion of the pungs, developed from a chill suffered ion Wednesday while he was giving a ■fsculling demonstration. Miller was showing Joe Wright, sen., ■■£« sculling trick and upset his shell and Icaught a chill from immersion in "the icy waters of the lake. An Ontario physician said Miller would not -"be able to meet Pearce for about a •week. PEARCE'S REPORTED ■' OBJECTION (Received August 31, 9.30 p.m.) TORONTO, August 30. Pearce was reported to-night to Shave objected to the postponement of s|the race with Miller. It was said that •he asked that he should be raced :against Barry as a substitute. Pearce !is said to have declared that he rejfiulated his training so as to be at Uhe peak of his form on Friday night, f'and that if the race was not forfeited [by Miller someone else should com- . pete. Pearce was said to have packed up fiend left for Hamilton. Barry appeared i at the Canadian National Exhibition t sports headquarters saying that he had been notified by Pearce to make arrangements for a substitute race.
