MENZEL TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND An announcement that Roderich Atenzel, the brilliant Czcchoslavakian player, would accompany the Englishmen, F. J. Perry and G. P. Hughes,; in their tour of New Zealand early in the coming season, was made at the annual meeting of the council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association in Wellington. It is also hoped to arrange lor V. G. Kirby (South Africa) to visit New Zealand at the same time. Menzcl is one of the most colourful personalities in European tennis today. Nearly six feet four inches in height, and very powerfully built, he is one of the hardest hitters in the fiame, and has defeated at various times most of the leading players of the world. Kirby is a fine player in singles, and with Menzel he has achieved many triumphs in doubles thin season. In the semi-finals to-morrow Miss Stammers will meet Baroness Levi and Miss James will play Miss Nuthall. Men's Singles Quarter Finals Mako beat G. Hall 6-4, 7-5. F. X. Shields beat C. S. Suter, 6-0, C-4. Parker beat Tidball, 6-1, 6-3. Lott beat Bell. 6-1, 6-3.
