Bishop Sadlicr said that the trusU es were iaced with the realisation of the estate, and then had to determine what kind of institute should be lounded. Mr Cawthron had said a technical school institute and museum. They put a plan before the court, winch uppioved most of the plans, except tno scholarships. The fustics had toil that the institute should be as ciose apossible to original research into the problems of agricultural pursuits in New Zealand.

Ho thanked members for their presentation «.£ a be mid volume r£ views of the institute's work. It would bring before htm many dreams, and memories of battles, controversies, and hard work, in fellowship round the table. The members of the present staff were worthy successors to those who beaan. He wished the greatest possible success fo their work, which would stand cut in the history of science as one of the most useful to the man on the land and to the public generally.
