N.Z. POSTERS IN FRANCE

♦ INTEREST TN SCHOOL TEACHER'S LETTER TO HIGH COMMISSIONER {rm<u cur owr coimssrONDCKT.) LONDON. January 12. Reference was made recently io a communication which the High Commissioner of New Zealand had received from a French schoolmaster who. when visiting London v;ith a football team, saw swordfishing posters in the windows of New Zealand House, in the Strand, and asked that copies of this and other posters might be sent him for displaying in his school to his Fcholars. The material he asked for was sent him, and the High Commissioner lias now received a letter stating that they "roused enthusiastic praises and the youngsters remained long discussing the size, weight, and strength of the huge sword-fish. They all agreed that New Zealand actually is 'the sportsman's paradise,' where such big game can be brought ashore by a single man. "The one representing natives near hot springs made them marvel, especially the girls' dress. The poster of the glacier shared with the others the boys' praises. At last the boys have stuck the three posters on the classroom walls, the 'sword-fish' in the best place, that is, facing the door. The illustrated guides have been bound into book form and put in our class library, one interesting book that pupils will enjoy for years to come. I am very grateful for all you have done for our English class, and send you in the boys' names and in my own name our very sincere thanks and hearty wishes."
