CLAIM FROM CITY MISSION

CASK AT WELLINGTON !P»£SS A3SOCIATIOK Tll.iatlll.l ' WELLINGTON. February 7. Alleging that the coster ball held in Wellington last year was part of a big money-raising scheme devised by him to assist the Wellington City Mission, and that he as organiser was entitled to a commission of 5 per cent, on the profits of the ball. Edwin Dennis brought a claim for £6l 16s lid against the Wellington City Mission, through its manager, James William Gibbons, at the Magistrate's Court today. The case was heard before Mr W. F. Stillwell, S.M. The defence denied that the plaintiff had any arrangement, and stated that the ball was carried through by Mesdames Herbert and Knox Gilmer, who would have had nothing to do with it if they thought anybody was getting anything out of it. After further evidence had been heard the magistrate adjourned the case for a week.
