* NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS CONCLUDED tPKESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WANGANUI, December 28. The North Island shooting championships were concluded at Wanganui to-day. The weather was bad in the morning, but improved in the afternoon. , Rifleman D. Roots (Patca) won the championship belt, with a .score of 33G. Rifleman L. Q. Benton (Featherston) was second with 332. Rifleman J. F. Soler (Wanganui) 329 (hird, Rifleman W. Mclver (Petonc) 328 fourth, President H. Hunt (Suburbs) 327 fifth. The champion teams match over 300, 500, and 600 yards was won by Petone (400 points), Wanganui No. 1 (398) was second, Opaki (394) third, Okato (391) fourth, and Wanganui No. 2 (389) fifth. Other results:— Manawatu Match, of 500 yards—D. Roots (Patea). and J. H. Thoirmson (Rangiwahia) 50 each, S. Roebuck (Okato) 49. B grade: J. T. Stephens (Old Navals) 48, G. Coster (Tararua) 47. Hawke's Bay Match, of 600 yards— H. King (Opaki) 50, H. Hunt (Suburbs) 48. B grade: J. Ford (Wanganui), P. Evans (Hawera) 44 each. Optional (second series) — R. Shaw (wanganui), S. Roebuck (Okato) 96 each. Marybank Aggregate—S. Roebuck 145, C. J. Nix 144.
