NELSON'S DAY
Saturday next, October 21, is Nelson's Day, and if; is a custom of the Navy League throughout the Empire, to commemorate this day. Accordingly floral tributes in memory of Lord Nelson and other British seamen will 68 placed on the west front of the Christchurch Anglican .Cathedral on Saturday morning next, and Nelson's memorable signal at the Battle of Trafalgar reading, "England expects that every man will do his duty," will be hoisted Citizens are requested to hoist flags on their business premises, and to contribute wreaths. H.M.S. Diomede will be in port, and the ship's company will send a wreath escorted by a party from the ship. In the evening members of the Navy League will meet in the Navy League hail, when a varied programme, mostly patriotic, of song, dance, ana dram,a, will be given. Captain Cosmo Graham and other officers of the Diomede will attend.
