There is a payment of 5 sovs in. connexion with the New Zealand Trotting Cup, due at noon to-day. Acceptances for the trotting events at the Banks Peninsula meeting will close at 6 p.m. on Friday. Acceptances for the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's spring meeting will close at noon on Tuesday, October 31. A Disappointing Effort. In view of the good track efforts he had been showing recently, the performance of Moreilo at Addington yesterday was particularly disappointing. Driven by his trainer he was worked in company with several horses, but before he had completed half the distance he broke, a mistake which he repealed a furlong further on. and was then pulled up. Later, J. J. Kenncrlcy drove Moreilo alone, but there was no improvement shown, it is hoped that this lapse is only temporary as I.lorello appeared to have the best chance of the opposition which will meet the unbeaten War Buoy in the remainder of the season's three-year-old events. An Improved Performance. Colorado is not regarded as good on a grass track as he is on the dirt, but he won the October Handicap, the principal event a* the Oamaru Trotung Club's Labour Day meeting a year ago, beating Dillon Logan, Gold vJountry and Enawah into tne places. He raced at New Brighton at the recent meeting, after he had shown good track form at Addington, but chat he is approaching his best again . he demonstrated by the way he completed his work at headquarters yesterday morning. He has only to race up to best to be among the moneyearners in the near future. Addington Track Notes. The Addington track provided good going yesterday, but it was not as fast as it has been lately. A cold wind did not assist in making conditions pleasant during training operations, which were of a more interesting nature than most of the recent track work. Brent.
