D. G. BRADMAN INVITED TO NEW ZEALAND TOUR WITH AUSTRALIAN TEAM SUGGESTED . The management committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association hopes to have D. G. Bradman tour the Dominion with an Australian hockey team next year. Bradman, in a broadcast talk on sport recently, an- . nounced that he had taken up hockey, which he considered to be the best game for a cricketer in the "off" season. A special meeting of the committee this week decided to invite an Australian hockey team to tour New Zealand next winter. Special representations will be made to the Australian hockey authorities to have Bradman included in the party, either as a player or a linesman, if an Australian cricket team does not go to England during the season. | TO-MORROW'S MATCHES The following are the only matches that will be played to-morrow: —The junior A, fourth, and fifth grade competitions being concluded, Selwyn have been declared winners of the junior A, Trinity A winners of the fourth grade, and Technical A of the fifth grade. Trinity have won the junior B, but one match remains to be played. Junior B Match. University v. Sydenham, Hagley 3, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr R. Moir;. Third Grade. Sydenham A v. Trinity, Hagley 6, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr E. Harvey); Sydenham B v. Harewood, Hagley 7, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr E. Rogers). The primary schools' competitions are concluded, with the exception of one match, Kaiapoi v. Lyttelton District High School, which will be played to-morrow, at Hagley No. 8, at 2.30 p.m. Ladies' Hockey. On account of the Ranfurly Shield match, women's hockey, with the exception of the following matches, which must be played in order to complete the competitions, will -be postponed to-morrow:— Senior A Grade. Practice match Technical v. Canterbury representative team, Hagley o, at 3 p.m. (Mr C. Bellamy); trial match to select team to meet Ellesmere, Hagley 5, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr R. H. Thomson). Senior B. Rawhiti v. Hornby, at Hornby, at 3 p.m. (Mr J. R. Smalley). Junior A. Both section matches are concluded, and Kiwi A. winners of the A section, will play Southbrook, winners of the B section, in the final match on August 26 - , Junior B. A Section—Lyttelton v. Digby's B, Hagley 2, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr J. H. Jones). Section B—Digby's v. Oddfellows. Hagley 4, at 1.30 P.m. (Mr J. Almond) . Hornby v. Redcliffs B, Hagley 4, at 3 p.m. (Mr J. H. Jones).
