THROWN FROM GIG.
'j- DEATH FOLLOWS ACCIDENT. ?•'
Following an accident in Hanson's lane, Riccarton, some weeks ago, in which she was thrown out of a gig, Mrs Susannah Rowe, aged 72, wife of Owen John Rowe, of 20 Edenbridge .street, Spreydon, died in-the Christchurch Hospital on Wednesday evening.
On June 17 Mrs Rowe was driving in a gig with her husband in HanSon's lane, when a motor-car, driven by Miss Bessie Kearney, of Lyttelton, emerged from a private drive, and the two vehicles met in collision. Both of trie occupants of the gig were thrown •wit, and Mrs Rowe was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering injuries not at the time regarded .as serious. Mrs Row.e made steady improvement for some weeks, but became worse, and died on Wednesday evening.
- .An inquest was opened before Mr \H. A. Young, coroner, yesterday afternoon. After evidence of identification Had been heard, the coroner ordered a post-mortem examination, and the fiigUest was adjourned sine die.
