Nearly every vrindow in the building was brokeh. ■Theforce of the explosion smashed > > windows in the Central, Grand, and Hotels, soipe 200 yards away. «■ The main business portion of the «ty was shaken. Most of the dam'fjfe was done to premises known a* tfie Canning Casket Corner, wnere all the large windows were broken, and the interior damaged. The indications point to the fact that an attempt was made to blow up the whole of the Beak House building, though police were on street duty only 50 yards away.
