British aviation authorities are taking steps tp ensure that there will be no peril from the air that might cause a gasometer disaster such as that which occurred in Germany a few weeks ago. An official survey is now being carried out all over the country with the object of equipping gasometers and other high buildings on flying routes with twinkling red obstruction lights. The system will apply to all structures within 500 metres of an aerodrome. There are no gasometers known to be a definite danger to aircraft
