LIBEL ON POLICE FORCE. (UKITED 1-IIESS ASSOCIATION— HY EI.ECTRIO TILEOBAI'H—COPIRiaai.) LONDON, December 13. Commenting that licensed published an abominabio libel—that the police had batoned a man to death in the Castleford unemployed disturbances — and neither withdrew the statement nor apologised, Mr Justice Goddard seutenced Clarence Mason, editor ot the Leeds "Daily Worker," to six months' imprisonment. The publishers, tho Utopia Press, were fined £ooo.
