POLITICAL AMBITION CHECKED. MINOR POSTS FOR NAZIS. (Received August 10th, 11.10 p.m.) LONDON, August 10. The Berlin correspondent oi ! the "News-Chronicle" says that President Hindcnburg has crushed Horr Adolf Hitler's political ambitions by vetoing his nomination as Chancellor. The President has also indicated that he sees no grounds for calling for Herr von Paper*'s resignation. He favours the continuance of the present non-Party Government, reinforced by several Hitlerite Ministers to be chosen by himself. The President's decision has increased tension among the Nazis, as they are hardly likely to accept minor Cabinet posts which, it is believed, have been placed at their disposal.
