DISPUTE ADJOURNED.
CONCILIATION COUNCIL SITTING. The Christchurch Biscuit and Confectionery manufacturers' industrial dispute occupied tho attention of the Conciliation Council yesterday morning, Mr Samuel Ritchie, Conciliation Commissioner, presiding. Mr A. S. Cookson, of Dunedin, appeared as agent for the employers, and with him as assessors were Messrs It. E. McDougall, A. C. Holmes, and L. H. Saudford. Mr J. S. Barnett represented the employees. Mr Barnett stated that steps had Iwen taken for the hearing in Christchurch of a combined districts dispute relating to the Northern, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland industrial districts. It was decided to adjourn the hearing of the local dispute until after the hearing of the Dominion enquiry on August 16th.
