HEATHCOTE NEWS.
SCHOOL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Heathcoto Valley School Committee was held on Monday evening. Members present were: Messrs N. G. Collins (chairman), E. Bloxam, W. G. Carter, P. A. Silcock (headmaster), Mrs Shrimpton, and Mr W. S. Harvey (secretary). It I was decided to bold the school fancy dress dance in October. Literary Society. The weekly meeting of the Heathcote Literary and Fellowship Society was held in tho Methodist schoolroom. Mr W. S. Harvey Mas in the chair. Those who took part in th<» character study were Miss M. Smith, Mr Tom Hay, and the llev. A. 1. Kent. Personal. Mr Bi-ownlow "Wcstbrooke, of the staff of the Greymouth Post Office, has returned home via Nelson after a week's holiday spent with his parents, Mr and Mrs B.
