WAR MEMORIAL AT THIEPVAL.
UNVEILING BY PRINCESEVENTY THOUSAND UNKNOWN DEAD. (BRITISH OFHCIAL WISILXSS.) (Received July 29th, 7 p.m.) RUGBY, July 2S. Tlie Prince of Wales will on Monday unveil at Thiepval a memorial to over 70,000 British soldiers who died iu that area, but who havo no known graves. "NVlien the Prince of Wales reaches Thiepval lie will inspect the French guard of honour, and will receive the French President (M. Albert Lebrun), who will deliver an address after tho memorial has been unveiled. The memorial will bear tlie following inscription: "To the glory of God and. in grateful memory of- tho 73,367 soldiers who gave lives on the Sommc battleliolds in the servico of their King and country, but who have no known grave, we dedicate this memorial, praying that, inspired by the example of these our brothers, we who remain may give our lives in service and sacrifice for the progress of humanity, so that wo may bo not ashamed when we meet with them beyond the grave.''
