POSSIBLE RETmEMENT OF MR BAVIN. PARTY MEETING CONVENED. (CNTTBI) PKZBS ASSOCIATION—BX ZLICTBIC TELIGBAPH— COPTSIQHT.) (Received March 25th, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 25. The "Sydney Morning Herald" says that a special meeting of the State Parliamentary Nationalist Party has been convened for Tuesday. It is stated in the lobbies that the Opposition Leader, Mr T. E. Bavin, will probably announce his resignation of the leadership of the Party, it is practically certain that Mr B. S. B. Stevens, the deputy-leader, will be chosen to fill the vacancy.
When interviewed, Mr Bavin declined to confirm or deny the rumour that- he intended to retire from the leadership.
GARNISHING STATE REVENUE.

Argument in the High Court in the case in winch the New Soutli Wales Government is seeking a declaration that the Federal Government's Garnishing Act is ultra vires is not expected to finish to-day. DE GROOT INCIDENT. BANNING OF FILM RECORD. y SYDNEY, March 24. The film depicting the de Groot incident at the opening of the Harbour Bridge on Saturday has been banned in all theatres in New South Wales after the Chief Secretary, Mr M. Gosling, had permitted its display. Mr Gosling's letter to the theatre managers simply states that the prohibition is "in the public interest." The film has been exported for exhibition overseas and in other States in Australia;
