PIGEON FLYING.

CHRISTCHURCH PREMIER CLUB. The Christchurch Premier Pigeon Club conducted races from the JSast Cape and Bluff during the week-end. Thirty-five birds were liberated off the East Cape at 9.21 a.m. on Saturday, and with fine weather and a southerly wind prevailing the first two birds were timed in at 9.36 a.m. Sunday. The winner, owned by B. Pegley, flew the 525 miles 1091 yards, in i6hrs 22min 41sec, after deducting time allowed for darkness. The birds racing from Bluff had adverse conditions throughout the journey, and a number failed to home on the day, and times were slow. The winner, owned by H.
