The culvert on the outfall drain at Tilford street and Dyer's road is to be renewed in reinforced concrete at a total cost of £419, towards which the City Council is to bo asked to contribute £l3O. The report was adopted. Progress of Contracts. The engineer (Mr James Cullens) reported regarding loan works that with respect to the sewer reticulation of tho Shirley area, construction is in progress in North Parade from Shirley road to Banks avenue. Dallington area: Pipes urc being laid in difficult country in River road. Pipe-laying has been completed on the Boulevard, and work is in hand on thc siphons. Slow progress is lieing made on the two siphons in the Radley area. Ferry road subsidiary sewer: Road crossings have been completed and about half the sewers on the footpath. Other works: The piping of Kruse's drain, North road, has been completed. A beginning has been made with the

concrete inverting of the Outfall drain. The tidal-gates liavo been fitted at Horseshoe Lake, and the work is completed. The regrading of thc upper portion of the Fendalton drain is in hand. The report was received.
